Work

Selected work

Three projects: one in production, one open source, one I am building now.

01In production

MAO

Production tracking on ordinary Android phones. A mobile app for operators at Labara s.r.o., a Czech manufacturer, connected to the company's own server.

Role
Full-stack engineer, backend and mobile app
Period
08/2024 – 12/2025
Stack
React Native (Expo), Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, JWT

Problem

Production records depended on dedicated hardware devices that were costly to buy and hard to maintain.

AfterAn ordinary Android phone: scan the operation's code and start
The terminal it replaced, and the scanner screen operators use now

What I built

A mobile app plus an admin web app used across 25+ machine types. I worked directly with the client to design operation-specific interfaces and calculations for each machine type. Operators choose a machine, log operations, and see their hours and personal statistics.

MAO operator profile with hours worked, overtime, assigned hours, completion and shift type
  1. 01Operator profileWho is working, when and where
  2. 02HoursAssigned, worked and overtime
  3. 03CompletionProgress against the assigned hours
  4. 04ShiftPicked on the phone, per day
The operator's own view: hours worked, completion and shift.

Result

Dedicated devices were replaced by ordinary phones, which cut equipment costs and made maintenance simpler. The app is still used in production.

02Open source

SpendSplif

A bank-connected finance platform for small businesses. It imports payments from bank accounts, sorts them into categories, and supports budgets, goals, reports, multiple currencies and team roles.

Role
Project lead and full-stack engineer
Period
01/2024 – 08/2025
Stack
Django REST Framework, React, TypeScript, Celery, Docker

Problem

Small businesses keep payments in spreadsheets and enter them by hand.

Two minutes through the whole product, from the first category to a tax report.

What I built

I led the development team and owned the core financial features: income and expense tracking, category-based spending accounting, and the Open Banking integration that pulls live transactions and balances from connected bank accounts. I also optimized the backend handlers for statistics over large transaction sets.

Outcome

A complete product with daily import from Czech banks, file import and export, budgets and goals, team roles, a support ticket system, subscription billing with Stripe and an AI agent. At the client's request, the code is now public on GitHub as an open-source project.

03In development

EduHub

A course platform where teachers build courses from stages and lessons, and students follow them and track their progress. A side project I am taking to a production launch, with AI features next.

Role
Solo, full stack
Period
10/2025 – present
Stack
Django REST Framework, PostgreSQL, JWT, React 19, TypeScript, Vite, Zustand, Docker

Idea

A small platform with two clear roles: teachers create and manage courses, students discover them, follow them lesson by lesson and see their progress.

Built so far

Teachers can create courses with stages and video lessons; students follow them and track their progress. Underneath: a REST API with JWT and role-based access, tests across the API, Docker Compose, and CI on GitHub Actions.

What's next

AI features for teachers and students, then a full launch in production.
